the CDHCI (Client Directed Home Care Invoicing) program by AHS (Alberta Health Services) gives seniors and their families the ability to choose and manage their home care providers, including personal care, homemaking, and respite care.
clients sign an agreement with AHS for approved hours and select providers registered with Alberta Blue Cross, which then handles the direct billing, significantly reducing the administrative burden for clients.
how CDHCI works
- needs assessment: an AHS Case Manager assesses your care needs.
- invoicing agreement: you sign an agreement with AHS, which details the approved care hours you are entitled to.
- provider selection: you choose an AHS-approved home care provider from the list of those registered with Alberta Blue Cross.
- direct billing: Your chosen provider submits claims directly to Alberta Blue Cross for payment.
